Approval of Minutes: Motion to approve April’s minutes made by Doug Lohmeier; seconded by Mary Lou Isaac. Motion approved.

New Business:
·       NNESL Spring Soccer Tournament is here on June 3rd, 4th, 10th, and 11th.

·       Doug asked if Princeton Football Coach Bill Leech, could borrow our big tent. Dave said it may be possible; the coach and Athletic Director should send a request letter to Dave with all the specific dates, times, insurance certificate, etc.

·       Pam was asked by a resident to find out about adding another screen/divider between tennis courts numbers 1 & 2. Although, the program continues to grow, at this time installing a screen/divider is not necessary. Also, the courts were laid out within standard specifications.

Old Business:
·       Tri-Health Report – no discussion

·       Trails Update –
o       The Public Works Department has started to develop trails on the lower section at Gorman Heritage Farm. Next month Public Works should begin work on the upper meadow and develop the trail connecting to Kingsport.

Director’s Report:
·       Fees subcommittee (Gus, Wayne, and Dave) will meet after our next meeting, to review facility rental fees and program fees.

·       Fitness Center Review subcommittee is Doug, Michele, and Dave.

·       The 5th Annual Fine Art Exhibit ran from May 5-8th. It was another great year with about 400 people attending opening night. Co-Chair Martha Carmody sent a thank you card to the Commission expressing her thanks for the Commission’s support of the exhibit.

·       Policy Guideline Manuals were updated. A revised copy will be mailed or emailed to commission members.

·       Revised commission member information list was distributed.

·       Skatepark-
o       If members talk to residents about the issue, try to get feedback regarding potential number of residents that would use the skatepark. Develop a questionnaire and send the questionnaire via email. Then possibly hold a public forum to exchange information with residents. The commission would have a better idea where the skatepark would be placed on the priority list.

·       Quarterly Newsletter-
o       Members have heard that residents were happy to receive the quarterly publication. Next issue will be out around July 1st.

Phi Lambda Pi Report: none

Open Discussion:
·       Platform Tennis – Glendale and Queen City have added courts. Interest seems to be growing here, and a presentation by residents may be forthcoming.

·       Summer commission schedule – June 15, 7:30am; no meeting in July unless necessary.

·       Fun in the Sun begins June 7th; Adam Knight is the coordinator of the program again this year.

·       Cary Belyea and SwimSafe are preparing the pool for the season.
o       The pool was caulked during the off season; water loss seems to have significantly decreased.
o       The sand in the filters was changed out, and gravel was added to the bottom of the filters. The gravel helps with filtration of the water.
o       Fritz Shadley is the head lifeguard.
o       John Bennett is the assistant manager.
o       The computer at the entrance will be set up this Monday. ID cards will be scanned to validate a current membership.

·       Founders’ Pavilion-
o       Phi Lambda Pi is planning a music fest day. Summer concerts have been planned, and schedules were mailed out. Is Fun in the Sun planning some type of program using the pavilion?

·       A Parks and Recreation Professional luncheon was held yesterday at the Fairfield Fine Arts Center. Dave attended and recommended everyone check out the facility.

Motion to adjourn made at 8:35 am by Gus Janszen; seconded by Wayne Mosley. Motion approved.
